Underneath all the
“stuff” on acting remains one thing:
we're artists that want
to express.
I went to the Spencer Tracy awards ceremony for Jack Lemmon
and he told me to do whatever you can, a film, TV, theater, a
class, whatever. In my own career I have dabbled in a little of
each and found that film acting is my specialty.
How does one
prepare oneself? When I first came to LA. I was told that I
should try and get film on myself so that people can see how I
look on film.
So that’s what I did. I did four films and
two
commercials. I didn’t judge the project as a whole because my
goal was to get film on myself.
When an actor starts growing in
their craft, they can begin to choose the type of projects they
would like to be involved with. I suppose that’s where I’m
at. Remember that if you have something to contribute you
probably would want to do it. So where are you? Just be, and do
it.
